Blaine to serve on Heritage Clubs International Advisory Board

Bank Club Association announces newly elected advisors at Annual Meeting Heritage Clubs International, llc (HCI) is pleased to announce that Cindy Blaine of Farmers Savings Bank & Trust, Traer has been elected for a three-year term to the Advisory Board. Elected advisors were announced at the annual Peer Group conference held most recently March 18-22, 2009 in Lafayette, LA. HCI is an Association of Bank Clubs and the premier bank marketing organization in North America.

As a member of the Heritage Clubs Advisory Board, Blaine, FSB Heritage Club Director will be part of providing leadership for the annual meeting of bank club directors and year-round advocacy for their peers. Advisory Board members are elected by their peers, who lead bank clubs for individual community banks across 33 states. The nine members are well experienced club directors who have earned the confidence of the broad membership in this important market segment of the commercial banking system.

"Heritage Clubs is a network of peers in the bank club industry and I look forward to serving as a leader to this network," Blaine said. "It is an honor to be recognized by my peers for my successes and elected to share my experiences with our membership."

Blaine joined the bank staff in November, 2004 as the Heritage Club Director and helps with customer service. She is married and has two children. She was a Sunday school teacher for many years and served on the Gladbrook-Reinbeck School board. She is a member of the auxiliary club in Gladbrook. In her spare time, Blaine enjoys spending time with her family and friends, knitting, jogging, and working outside.

"Heritage Clubs Advisory Board is a key component to guiding the future success for our organization," said HCI President, George Aker. "Cindy and the other Advisory Board members come to the Board with a depth and breadth of talent, allowing HCI to strengthen our value in the bank club market."

Other newly elected advisors include: Ruth Rogers, Passport Club of First National Banking Company (Cherokee Village, AR).

Advisory Board members continuing their terms include: Val Kelsey, (re-elected chair), Premier Club of D. L. Evans Bank in Burley, ID; Doreen McKinney, Platinum Passport Club of Mascoma Savings Bank, Lebanon, NH; Jackie Nelson, Keenagers Club of United Prairie Bank in Owatonna, MN; Lois Reynolds, Prestige Club of Iowa Trust & Savings Bank, Centerville, IA; Don Ruhde, Millennium Club of Iowa Falls State Bank, IA and Renee Zaiser, Good Neighbors Club of Two Rivers Bank & Trust, Burlington, IA.

Retiring board members included Trudy Cresswell (immediate former chair), New Horizons Club of Eastwood Bank in Rochester, MN and Mary Robertson, Passport Club in Northfield Savings Bank of Barre, VT.

Heritage Clubs International, llc. was founded in 1980 by First Citizens National Bank in Mason City, Iowa and currently has a membership of more than 200 parent banks located in 33 states across the country. Each bank has formed a bank club that offers membership to senior customers who meet deposit requirements and who have time and interest in social activities and travel. The primary goal for the banks is growth in deposits and increased profitability from sale of bank services. This is done by generating strong relationships with the members. The bank club offers many banking related benefits to these customers, with most offering travel programs, from one day trips to extended tours, plus international tours and cruises. The travel program is the "jewel" of the bank clubs as it develops the strongest relationship of all of the banking services.
