The Clutier Fun Days Committee is busy planning for their annual celebration with this year's theme of "Christmas in July". July 31 and August 1 will be celebrated with a variety of events including music, parades and a visit from Santa Claus.

The events kick off with Christmas shopping opportunities at a flea market. The flea market will be held Friday from 12-5 and Saturday from 9-5. Clutier residents are encouraged to decorate their homes in a festive, Christmas theme.

Friday night's activites have something for everyone. At 6 pm, a Veteran's silent Parade and balloon release will occur. This will be followed by a children's parade at 6:45. At 7 pm until 9 pm, Polka Proste from Charles City will perform on Main Street. Polka Proste is sponsored by Chelsea Savings Bank. The Clutier Fun Day Committee will be serving pork loin sandwiches, hamburgers, hot dogs and kolaches during this event. Saturday morning will start off at 8 am with the annual 5K Run/Walk sponsored by the North Tama Activities FCCLA. The grand parade will be held at 10:30 am with a special visitor, Santa Claus. Activities that are ongoing throughout the day include the flea market, an antique tractor exhibit, bingo and food stands on Main Street. The food stands include brats, baked goods, hamburgers, walking taco, popcorn, cotton candy and snow cones. Free Lemonade will be provided by the Clutier Community Church. A Christmas walk similar to a cake walk, will also happen throughout the day. Kids of all ages can also enjoy having their picture taken with Santa as they also enjoy the dunk tank, bean bag toss, duck pond, water slide and other attractions. Clutier collectibles will be available for sale throughout the day. The annual Kiddie Money Scramble will occur at 1pm followed by the 2 pm Adult Tricycle Race. In the spirit of Clutier's holidays past, a town drawing for cash will be held at 3 pm. Also at 3 pm, name that tune will be played. at 4 pm, the Clutier Library Auction will once again be held. At 5 pm, the Fireman's hog roast will be going on at the Fire Station. While there, plan on listening to the concertina music of Larry Holst at 5 pm.

Rev up your engines for the Clutier car Cruise at 7 pm. At 8 pm, there will be a drawing for a Harley Davidson afghan. Also 2 bikes are being given away by the Western Fraternal Life Insurance. The highlight of the evening, sponsored by the Farmer's Cooperative Telephone, will be the music of Dennis Perry and Western Tones.
