Here’s What’s Happening at the Tama County Museum

The Tama County Historical Society and Genealogical Library Society will meet Wednesday, Aug 6th in the Tama County Genealogy Library at 6:00 pm.

Program will be with Popcorn and Movie Night.

Workday was July 20 and was spent working on filing, researches and filing acquisitions.

The next workday/funday will be August 17th..

Visitors from Iowa were Grinnell, Independence, Manchester, Atkins, Maquoketa, Belle Plaine, Kalona, Blairstown, Scranton, Luzerne, North Liberty, Hawkeye, Albion, Cedar Rapids, West Liberty, Iowa City, Altoona, Des Moines, Urbandale, Victor and other towns in Tama County.

Out of State Visitors- Tempe, AZ; Chicago, IL; Miami, FL; Sherman, Clarksville TX; St. Peter, MO; Fort Smith, AR; San Luis Obispo, CA, Richmond, VA and Bad Urach, Germany;

And Now You Know- July 25, 1916 a fierce fire wiped out the north side of Lincoln Main Street and lack of water for the bucket brigade contributed to the tragedy.
