Wiese reunion planned

The decendents of Heinrich and Sophie Wiese will gather for their 19th Annual Family Reunion on Sunday, June 13, 2010, at the Tama Civic Center, 305 Siegel Street, Tama. The basket dinner will be served at 12:30 p.m.

Heinrich and Sophie Wiese and seven children ranging from age 2 to 15 years, boarded the ship The Persia and departed from the port in Hamburg, Germany, on July 17, 1897, arriving in New York City, New York U.S.A., on July 28, 1897. The family traveled to Tama County where they settled and lived on a farm in the Garwin area.
