Neil E. Johns, 87

Neil E. Johns was born February 2, 1926 in Iowa. He was the son of Anna and Robert Johns and the grandson of Joseph and Fanny Raudabaugh. He attended Geneseo Consolidated School and Iowa State University after serving in the United States Army during World War II.

Mr. Johns was a member of the Iowa State Legislature. He farmed in Garwin in his early adulthood and continued to work in various aspects of agriculture for a number of years which took he and his family to Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska and finally to Texas. Above all, Mr. Johns was always extremely proud of his Iowa roots. He is lovingly remembered by his two daughters, Sara Johns Ray of McKinney, Texas and Amy Johns Strain of McAlester, Oklahoma. Sara and Amy each have one daughter, Meredith and Lauren, respectively. A memorial service for Mr. Johns will be held Saturday, November 10 at 11am at Geneseo Cemetery.
