Hora-Machacek No, 453 to hold sewing day

Hora-Machacek Legion Auxiliary #453 met on December 4, 2012 at the post home in Clutier. The meeting began at 2 p.m. with nine members present. Treasurer Linda gave units financial report. No bills were presented for payment.

Evelyn Caloud and Mary Seda did the gravesite memorial service for Doris Niedermann. Helping serve the funeral lunch were Bernice Smolek, Pauline Sienknecht, Marcella Caslavka, and Doris Parizek. A monetary donation will be given to the Clutier Library in Doris's memory. Thank you from Adaline Hushak's family was shared by all.

Wednesday, January 2nd will be a sewing day beginning at 9 a.m. Unit is in need of old or unwanted sheets for tearing and sewing into carpet rags for IVH in Marshalltown.

On sewing day anyone in the community is welcome to come to help and to enjoy fellowship. Lunch at noon will be soup, salad, and sandwiches. Monthly meeting at 1:30 p.m.

Linda Dvorak will deliver the can food and paper products members brought to the meeting for the NE Iowa Food Pantry. Pauline Sienknecht won the door prize.
