Wilbert Ernest Stueck passed away at his home on February 8, 2013 at the age of 79 due to pancreatic cancer. He was born in Vinton, Iowa October 5, 1933, the son of George and Margaret (Raub) Stueck and lived his entire life in the Dysart area. He graduated from Dysart High School in 1952 and farmed with his father and brother until entering the Army in 1955. He married Lois Wilson on January 21, 1956 at the Methodist Church in Vinton and upon his discharge from the service, they returned to farming. He took pride in being a farmer and was a good steward of his land. He loved a number of special pets throughout his lifetime and enjoyed fishing trips to Canada, playing cards and coffee time with friends and family. In retirement he loved watching his granddaughters' activities and was amazed that such little girls could play ball so well.
Willie is survived by his wife, Lois, son, Steve, of Lincoln, NE, daughter, Dr. Susan Espeland and her husband Steve and granddaughters Ellen and Hannah of Madrid, Iowa sister-in-law, Lorraine Stueck of Dysart, brother-in-law Wayne (Betty)Wilson of Independence, Iowa, nieces Connie (Brad) Oelmann of Ankeny, Arnola Stueck of Chicago, Ardie (Don) Roehr of Ames, Leorita (Leo) Hauschildt of Cedar Rapids, nephews Ed (Shirley) Fett of Dubuque, Kevin Wilson of Independence and several great neices and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Arnold Stueck, nephew Michael Stueck, sister-in-law Marvel Fett and brother-in-law Warren Wilson.
He was an active member of the Zion Lutheran Church and member and Past Commander of Gordy Myers Post # 335 of Dysart.
He appreciated being a part of the Dysart community so memorials will be directed to the Dysart Fire and Ambulance service and the Zion Lutheran Church.
