Knoop, Novotny are Fair Queen finalists

Emma Knoop, 18, is the daughter of Dean and Sharon Knoop of Clutier and a graduate of North Tama.

While in high school, some of Emma's activities included: band, volleyball, softball, basketball, science team, and FFA. She served as captain of her basketball team her senior year. Emma was also active in National Honor Society, serving as President.

In her community, Emma was President, Vice-President, treasurer and photographer during her 10-year membership in the Clutier Cowboys and Cowgirls 4-H Club. Emma is also actively involved in County Council and is a S.T.E.M. leader.

In her spare time, she likes to volunteer and be outside.

Emma's future plans are to attend Iowa State University, where she hopes to major in Kinesiology-Physical Therapy for four years and then attend graduate school.

Laura Novotny, 16, is the daughter of Jim and Karla Novotny of rural Tama. She will be going into her junior year at South Tama County High School.

During high school, Laura's activities include: 4-H, FFA, County Council and Colorguard.

In her community, Laura has served as the Toledo Techs 4-H Club secretary and president. She is currently the president of the South Tama FFA Chapter and a member of St. John Lutheran Church.

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time caring for her horses and working at the Tama-Toledo Aquatic Center.

Laura's future plans are to graduate from STC and continue on to college.
