Willis K. Miller, 86, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at Ravenwood Nursing and Rehab Center. He was born July 2, 1927 in Shelby the son of Clyde Everett and Addie Kern Miller. He married Connie M. Persons on February 7, 1953 in Waterloo; she preceded him in death on April 15, 2010.
He graduated from Shelby High School and also Gates Business College. He served in the U.S. Marines during WWII and also served overseas during the Korean Conflict. He worked for John Deere in the Accounting Department for 31 years, retiring in 1982. He was a member of the John Deere Supervisors Club and was baptized in the Presbyterian Faith.
Survived by: a friend, Dixie Heiser of Waterloo; two daughters-in-law, Wanda Miller of Kingsville, TX, Connie Miller of Lebanon, MO; four grandchildren, including a special granddaughter, Jody McIntosh of Kingsville, TX; ten great grandchildren and a special nephew Mark Persons of Cedar Rapids; two sisters-in-law, Joanne Persons of Waterloo and Dorothy Persons of Cedar Rapids.
Preceded in death by: his parents; his wife, Connie; two sons, Michael A. and Donald L. Miller, two brothers, Lowell and Willard Miller and one sister, Naomi McBride.
Private Family Graveside services will be held Saturday in the Waterloo Cemetery with full military rites. Public visitation will be held Friday from 5-8 p.m. at the Kearns Funeral Service, Kimball Chapel.
