November 1, 2013

#OMG #Twitter #Help #Schools? Most of the teachers at North Tama have a Twitter account. Twitter is a social network that is worldwide on the web. All you need is the Internet and your possibilities are endless. Teachers and staff use Twitter not only for talking in a social way, but also to put out assignments and get a hold of students. "It's a very powerful tool if used correctly," said Paul Rea, 7-12 Principal at North Tama.

Knowing that North Tama can use this social network and not have any large problems is amazing. "It has a lot of potential. I see students using it as a social tool and not as a resource for learning, if students used it as a resource for learning, it would be a powerful mechanism in the world of learning," said Rea.

Teachers use Twitter in school for multiple reasons. "I like Twitter a lot, it's a great tool professionally and personally," said Brandon Clubb, North Tama Physical Education Teacher and Head Boy's Basketball Coach.

Students use Twitter for many reasons. North Tama students use Twitter for catching up on homework. Students also get a hold of other students instead of texting. "I use it to communicate to other students if the other students are absent or sick," Said Rian Weida-Kelsey, junior at North Tama. All in all, Twitter is a great tool to use for many reasons and could help North Tama immensely in years to come.
