Hora-Machacek Legion Auxiliary of Clutier held their December meeting on the 3rd at 1:30PM. President Veronica conducted the meeting with eight members present. Secretary Nancy called the roll with the main officers present. Nancy read last months minutes which were approved as read. Treasurer Linda gave units financial report. No bills were presented.
At the County Meeting our unit received The Major League Award for achieving 75% of their membership by October 26th.
Our unit served Rose Parizek's funeral lunch. Bernice Smolek was in charge and those assisting were: Mary Seda, Marcella Caslavka, Pauline Sienknecht, and Linda Dvorak.
Unit collected canned and boxed products and paper products for the NorthEast Iowa Food Pantry. Pauline will see that they get to the pantry in Traer.
Mary Seda made a motion, seconded by Eileen Hora that we give a monetary donation to the Clutier Fire Department and the 1st Responders. Motion carried.
Received 3rd district clipper which Veronica reviewed It included information on the new
Commandant at IVH, Jodie Tymeson. Presently there are 603 residents at IVH and have 17 people on waiting list to be admitted.
Executive board will be decorating the hall on Thursday evening for the Christmas season. Happy Birthday was sung to Vera Sevcik and Mary Seda. Nancy Cibula won the door prize.
January 1st Richard and Collette Wiebbecke will take over rental book and keys to the Legion hall.
On Tuesday January 7th we will have a sewing day beginning at 9AM. Instead of potluck will have soup, salad, and sandwiches at noon. Bring something of the above.. Monthly meeting will begin at 1:30PM.
Veronica served a dessert for lunch. Each member received a Christmas present from Veronica which was a jar of apple butter.
