Vivian Arlene Clausen, 74, of Traer, formerly of Evansdale, died of esophageal cancer on Monday, March 3, 2014 at Cedar Valley Hospice, Waterloo.

Vivian was born December 3, 1939, in Mason City, the daughter of Olaf and Vera Morse. She married Joseph Huegel and they later divorced. She married Robert Clausen on June 20, 1992.

A 1958 graduate of Rockwell-Swaledale High School, Vivian was a homemaker for many years. She also operated and managed a number of convenience stores in the Waterloo area. Her greatest joys have been spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren. Many great memories were created during family times at her home.

Survived by: Her husband, Robert; children Sheri Lund of Urbandale, Jeff (Luci) Huegel of Marion and Tony (Debra) Huegel of Bettendorf; grandchildren Brittney, Nickolas, Emily (Jack), Ashlyn, Alicia, Jacob, Gage and Brianna; her sister, Harriett McVicker of Independence, MO; brother, William (Cheryl) Morse of McKinney, TX; and her loving in-laws.

Preceded in death by: Her parents; six brothers, Harry, Robert, Russell, Claude, Richard and Ronald; and son-in-law Jon Lund.

Services: Visitation on Thursday, March 6 from 4 to 6 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 6:30 p.m. at Peace United Church of Christ, 201 W Johnston St, Gladbrook.

Memorials: may be made to Cedar Valley Hospice or to any organization of your choice.
