Hulme strikes out 12

June 27, 2014
Traer Star-Clipper

North Tama junior Brody Hulme struck out 12 over seven shutout innings, allowing just one hit as the Redhawks outlasted Dunkerton 1-0 in Iowa Star Conference baseball action Wednesday night.

The Redhawks managed just three hits of their own against Dunkerton senior Jordan Kubitz, but it proved to be enough.

Brandon Kaufman reached base on a fielder's choice in the top of the sixth, stole second and scored on Cameron Hoeg's single through the right side.

Hoeg was 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and Will Earley had the Redhawks' only other hit.

Kubitz struck out six and hit a batter but took the loss for the Raiders.

North Tama (7-8, 4-4) left conference play to face county rival South Tama on Friday night in Tama.
