Population, taxable valuations decrease

Tama County Supervisors approved Fiscal Year 2014-2015 township property tax levies for Tama County. Under city property tax levies for general school operation varies from 14.88659 to 9.02436, the highest being South Tama County Community School District and the lowest being Gladbrook and Lincoln.

Taxable valuations decreased in seven Tama County towns, those being Chelsea, Garwin, Gladbrook, LeGrand, Lincoln, Montour and Traer.

Population in the 2010 census increased in two towns, Dysart and Tama. The rest of the towns show a decrease. Tama County townships show two townships with an increase in population, Carlton and Indian Village. This is a tax levy reduction of $0.6531390 per $1000 of Property Valuation, effective July 1, 2013 to June 30, 2014.

Todd Rickert from the Central Point of Coordination offices, was present for the renewal of a Detox contract with Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo. Cost is $675.00 per day per person plus a varied expense of $250.00 a day for those who require an extended stay.

Susan Jones reported she will be sending out a letter to all employees advising them of training sessions on harassment. All employees are required to take this training, according to law.

A Class A Liquor License (LA (Private Club) was viewed from the Dysart Recreation, Inc. for a term of twelve months, and will also cover outdoor service and Sunday sales. The effective date is August 7, 2014 and expiration date is August 6, 2015.
