Junior wide receiver Riley Rohach had a monster day, snatching three receptions for 142 yards - and taking two of them to the house - but it wasn't enough to help North Tama avoid a 35-13 defeat at East Buchanan in Friday night's 2014 opener.

Rohach averaged a whopping 47.3 yards per catch, including a 63-yard touchdown reception. His TDs represented the only scores of the day for the Redhawks.

Senior quarterback Brody Hulme completed 50 percent of his passes, going 9-for-18 with 193 yards and the two TD passes to Rohach. Hulme also rushed for 27 yards on 16 attempts.

Senior Kelon Hansen was utilized as the team's primary rusher, finishing the day with 14 attempts for 86 yards, an average of 6.1 yards per carry. Through the air, Caden Stuart caught for 45 yards and led the team with five receptions. Stuart also facilitated a sound return game for the Redhawks, with 78 yards on three kickoff returns, an average of 26 yards per return.

On the defensive side of the ball, junior Kyle Isenhower led the team with 17 total tackles. Hulme finished with 16 and Rohach had 12. Sophomore Parker Lunde also had six tackles, including one for a loss and two assisted tackles for a loss. Rohach also recovered East Buchanan's only fumble.

North Tama will look to get back on track in the 2014 home opener this Friday night against GMG, which lost a 42-14 contest to BCLUW in their opener last week. Gametime is set for 7 p.m.
