Redhawks falll 40-7 at Wapsie

September 19, 2014
Traer Star-Clipper

North Tama traveled to Wapsie Valley on Friday night, still riding high from the team's 29-6 win over GMG the previous week. Unfortunately for the Redhawks, their trip would bring them back down to Earth.

The Wapsie Valley defense limited North Tama to just 74 yards through the air and 35 on the ground in a 40-7 win.

Sophomore Cael Kopriva made his debut at quarterback and completed six of 14 attempts, throwing a touchdown to junior wide receiver Riley Rohach.

On defense, Rohach led the team with 7.5 total tackles and an interception. Kopriva also picked off a pass, and Noah Kaufmann and Tony Weber combined for the Redhawks' lone sack of the night.

North Tama returns to Traer for a Friday night game against BCLUW, another talented team despite coming off a 52-0 loss to highly-ranked Gladbrook-Reinbeck. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
