A sound run defense and penchant for big plays led the Denver Cyclones to a 54-14 win over the visiting North Tama Redhawks last Friday night.

The normally strong North Tama rushing attack was held to just 12 yards on the ground. Luckily for the Redhawks, there was a bit of offense to be found through the air.

Junior wide receiver Riley Rohach had another 100-yard game, grabbing six receptions for 104 yards and a touchdown. Sophomore quarterback Cael Kopriva was 11-of-21 through the air. Brody Hulme ran for 28 yards and a touchdown. On the defensive side, Tony Weber recorded seven total tackles, including two for a loss.

The Redhawks (2-3) will now face perhaps their toughest test of the season when they host Gladbrook-Reinbeck (4-1) this Friday. The Rebels have outscored their competition by a staggering 151-0 margin in their last three games. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. in Traer.
