Sienknecht Family Reunion Sept. 13

August 21, 2015
Traer Star-Clipper

The annual Sienknecht Family Reunion will be Sunday, Sept. 13, 2015, at 12:30pm in the Clutier American Legion Hall, 281 4th St, Clutier.

Henry Detlef and Fredericka Louise (Krambeck) Sienknecht came to the U.S. from Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, on Nov. 26, 1883, locating in Rock Island County, Ill., for 10 years before moving to northern Tama County in 1893. They lived south of Traer for several years before moving to a farm in Crystal Township, later locating in the Lincoln and Gladbrook communities. They were parents of six children: Henry Sienknecht Jr. of Rock Island, Ill.; Lillian (Mrs. Julius) Staker of Lincoln; John C. Sienknecht of Clutier; Fred Sienknecht of Lincoln; Maggie (Mrs. Charles) Fink of Lincoln; and Freda (Mrs. Harry) Sabin of Waterloo.

The Sienknecht descendants are invited to the reunion for a potluck dinner. Please bring a dish to share and table service. Drinks will be provided. The afternoon will include a short presentation on the history of the Sienknecht and Krambeck families in Germany.
