Redhawks battle rain, BCLUW in loss

September 25, 2015

North Tama put points on the board, but was unable to close the gap in a 28-7 loss on a rainy Friday night against BCLUW in Conrad last week.

Senior running back Caden Stuart rushed for 64 yards and quarterback Cael Kopriva threw for 89 yards and a touchdown, but the BCLUW offense found its way into the end zone more often.

Nick Sierra caught two passes for 46 yards and Stuart grabbed two passes for 24 yards and the team's lone touchdown.

On the defensive side, sophomore Michael Kreinert recorded a sack and a team-high eight tackles, including one tackle for loss. Jake Hlas also grabbed an interception during the game.

The Redhawks (0-4) will now look for the upset as they host district-leading Denver (3-1) on Friday, September 25. The Cyclones beat Gladbrook-Reinbeck 21-7 last week and are in the driver's seat for a district title. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. in Traer.
