The North Tama boys basketball team, after a 2-1 start, dropped seven straight games to end the year. Now, the team will look to 2016 to get some of their Redhawk swagger back with finishing the season around .500 still a real possibility.
The boys (2-8) open play in January on Tuesday, January 5 with a home contest against GMG (2-5). A second home game that week comes on Saturday against CAL.
So far this season, senior Ben Panfil has stepped up to lead the Redhawks offensively, averaging 15.8 points per game while also leading the team with 5.3 rebounds per game.
Senior Brian Zobel has also been a force on the glass, grabbing 5.2 rebounds per game to go along with 7.9 PPG. Junior Cameron Hoeg (7.6 points per game) and senior Logan Zobel (7.4 PPG) have also been important contributors so far.
Freshman Hale Hulme (2.8 PPG) has also emerged as a floor leader, distributing the ball well - as evidenced by a team-high 2.3 assists per game - and racking up a team-high nine steals.
