The North Tama girls, meanwhile, have a smaller deficit to make up in getting back over the .500 mark in 2016. The Redhawks (5-6) open the second half of their season with a winnable Tuesday night home contest with GMG (3-6).

Senior Abbie Schafer has been the offensive leader for the Redhawks so far this season, averaging a double-double and racking up a team high in points per game (15.4), rebounds per game (10.4), and steals per game (0.9).

Seniors Alyssa Wrage and Kodi Hillman have distributed the ball well, with 10 and 13 assists on the season, respectively. Madison Howard is the team's second-leading scorer, averaging 6.6 points per game, and sophomore Olivia Schrier has emerged as a powerful young presence, averaging 5 points per game and 3.6 rebounds per game.
