Eva J. Krug, 89, of Dysart, passed away on Sunday, February 14, 2016 at her home. Visitation will be held at Overton Funeral Home in Dysart on Thursday, February 18, 2016 from 4 to 7 p.m. with a service Friday, February 19 at 10 a.m. at Ripley United Church of Christ in Traer. Burial will follow at Dysart Cemetery.

Eva Jean Krug was born on August 6, 1926, in Traer, the daughter of Roy and Ruth (McGinnis) Perry. Jean grew up in Traer and Buckingham and graduated from Geneseo High School in 1945. She was united in marriage with Fay Charles Krug on September 23, 1945 at her family farm near Buckingham. Jean worked for Pioneer, Sunnycrest Nursing Home, Bonnie's Place in Dysart, and was the custodian for the Dysart United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Peace United Church of Christ Women's Guild. Jean enjoyed going to garage sales, baking, sewing, puzzle books, and playing cards. Jean died at the age of 89 on Sunday, February 14, 2016, at her home in Dysart following a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three sons, Marlin, Roger and Allen; and two brothers. Jean is survived by a daughter, Barbara (Alvin) Pelto of Thunder Bay, Ontario; a daughter-in-law; a grandson; and a special friend.
