Ruth A. Balfour, 95

May 27, 2016
Traer Star-Clipper

Ruth Adelle Clark Balfour journeyed into heaven on May 20, 2016, after a fall that lead to her death. She resided at Sunrise Hill Care Center in Traer, Iowa since March of 2014. Prior to living at Sunrise Hill, she and Willard lived at Carrington Place in Toledo for five years after moving off the family farm.

Ruth Adelle Clark was born to Albert and Mildred Irene Vore Clark on June 4, 1920. She is just shy of her 96th birthday. Ruth attended Toledo High School. On March 4, 1936 she and Willard Balfour eloped to Albert Lea, Minnesota to get married and they celebrated their 77th wedding anniversary together before Willard passed away on Christmas Day, 2014.

Ruth and Willard's only "home" was the Balfour Family Century Farm north of Toledo. They lovingly cared for their property and Ruth was truly proud to call her self a farmer's wife. She enjoyed helping with crops, livestock, feeding the work crew and keeping the books.
