The North Tama softball team is sitting at 13-9 following a 4-3 June 24 win at Janesville. The trio of Carissa Calderwood, Madison Howard and Kodi Hillman - all batting over .400 on the season - has helped lead a potent Redhawk offense in 2016.
Calderwood, a freshman, leads the team with a .455 batting average. Calderwood also has 22 RBI and six stolen bases.
Senior Madison Howard has been an important part of the Redhawks' success both in the batter's box and on the mound. Howard leads the team with 25 RBI and 32 hits, and has stolen 20 bases while batting .444. On the mound, Howard has been the team's primary starter, earning a 9-7 record with a 2.39 ERA. Opposing batters are hitting just .161 against her.
Kodi Hillman, currently batting .400, has also notched 17 RBI. Junior Jaide Johnson and sophomores Tessa Dvorak and Olivia Schrier are all batting over .340. Dvorak leads the team with 26 stolen bases and a home run.
The Redhawks wrap up the regular season with a home game against Dunkerton this Friday, July 1 at 5 p.m.
