New coach, new approach for Redhawk football

September 2, 2016
Traer Star-Clipper

The football team has worked extremely hard the past few weeks, and have consistently gotten better everyday", said new Head Coach Austin Pink at last Friday's scrimmage. The team tries to accomplish everything they do in "Above The Line" behavior, whether that be on the field, in the classroom, or life in general.

When asked what he means by Above the Line behavior Coach Pink continued, "By being above the line on the field, we strive to get 1 percent better everyday. If we can say we are better today than we were yesterday, we are headed in the right direction."

The coaching staff believes the 2016 Seniors have really grown in their leadership just during their first few weeks of football. The younger athletes look to them for guidance on how to do a drill correctly, or how to act when maybe something doesn't go their way.

The Redhawk Football Players and Coaches would like to thank everyone who made the Dennis Field renovation possible. It really is an unbelievable upgrade and it couldn't have been done without all of the wonderful volunteers this summer. Along with his appreciation for the facility renovations Coach Pink and the staff are asking for the support of the entire North Tama community and want to invite everyone to come out and root on all of your Redhawk athletes this fall!
