Winifred "Winnie" Halupnik was born on March 5, 1922 in Claremont, Minnesota: the daughter of Edward and Margaret (Foley) Duffy. They moved to Voorhies, Iowa and Winnie graduated from Reinbeck High School in 1939. She married Ernest L. Winnie moved to Waterloo to be closer to her daughters in 2003 and had a full and social life with many friends and family. In her younger years, she loved to go dancing, gardening, cooking, fishing and antiquing. Winnie loved anything Irish, Lawrence Welk and Polka. She would take pictures of anything and everything. In 2015 Winnie moved to Mallard Point with additional assisted living help, and flourished until an illness in September of 2016.
