Hora-Machacek Legion Auxiliary held a sewing day on Tuesday, February 7th at the post home in Clutier. Day began at 9am tearing and sewing carpet rags for rug weaving for IVH in Marshalltown. Those in attendance were: Pauline Sienknecht, Eileen Hora, Linda Dvorak, Marcella Caslavka, Mary Seda, Lillian Dostal, Diane Caloud, Margaret Babinat, Julia Babinat, Vera Sevcik, and Veronica Pavlicek. Delicious potluck was enjoyed at noon. Julia Babinat took down the Christmas tree and decorations.

The monthly meeting started at 1:30pm and Marilyn Svoboda joined us for the meeting. We all recited the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Roll call was taken. Last months minutes were read and approved. Treasurer Diane reported our financial status.

Mary Seda and Veronica Pavlicek did the Auxiliary service at the funeral for Gloria Hlas. Read a thank you from the Clutier First Responders for our monetary donation. Read letter from IVH for the 13 lbs of rag balls we had donated.

Passed an article around regarding Lizzie Worthington, our Girl Stater from last June. She will be representing all Girl Scouts across Iowa and will serve as youth host at the Governor's luncheon. It is a fund raiser for the Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa and Mid-Iowa Council Boy Scouts of America.

Everyone present signed a get well card for Evelyn Caloud.

February 28, 2017 is Tama County Joint meeting at 7pm at Reinbeck Memorial Bldg. March 7, 2017 our unit will have sewing day beginning at 9am, potluck at noon, and meeting in the afternoon. March 18th is the Foreign Food Fair at IVH from 11-1pm. March 19th our unit will have a bake sale the same day as Legions Pancake Breakfast beginning at 8am at the post home.

Linda Dvorak made a motion to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Mary Seda. Motion carried.
