Scouts spruce up recycling area

April 21, 2017
Traer Star-Clipper

On Tuesday, April 4, 2017, the Wolf Den from Cub Scout pack 304 started cleaning up the Traer Recycling area behind the library. The four boys and their parents cleaned up the many items that had blown out of the bins and were caught in the fence. The scout volunteers - Michael Chapman, Dylan Harris, Liam Stoakes and David Yuska - are 7-8 years old and in the same second grade class. They learned not everything, like styrofoam and kids toys, can be brought to the recycling area.

The scouts have taken an interest in keeping this center neat and hope you will too. A couple of simple ways you can help are by braking down boxes when dropping them off and making sure to close the dumpster lids before leaving.

A big thank you to Whannel's True Value Hardware for donating work gloves for the boys.
