Clutier Public Library summer activities

June 30, 2017
Patti Kupka , Traer Star-Clipper

The Clutier Public Library and Board of Trustees are pleased to announce that we have received a $500.00 grant from the Shopko Foundation for our summer activities. This grant will pay for our programs, our snacks, and new games and books. Thank you, Shopko.

July 6th at 1:00pm the Grout Museum will be at City Hall to demonstrate their "Super Cold" program. This program uses liquid nitrogen to show how temperature is related to solids, liquids and gases. The museum says, "The mind shattering experiments we will see during this demonstration will blow them away." In addition they will make 30 servings of liquid nitrogen ice cream, which we will serve as our snack. This program is recommended for all ages so we are inviting any Clutier area resident to attend.

July 13th at 1:00pm representatives of Green Iowa AmeriCorps will have a demonstration at City Hall. They work with children of all ages to educate them on sustainable practices and why clean energy and energy efficiency matters. Their program is also recommended for all ages so, again, we are inviting any Clutier area resident to attend. Snacks will be served.

July 20th at 1:00pm Clutier area children are invited to meet at the library for an hour of games and to "Chalk the Walk." Snacks will be served.

July 27th at 1:00pm we will meet at the library. Jennifer Hulme will have a presentation and we will finish with our annual pizza and ice cream party.

This year we are asking that children under the age of 7 be accompanied by a parent, guardian or responsible older sibling for these activities. Thank you!
