Get ready for Traer's Ecumenical Vacation Bible School!

July 7, 2017
Traer Star-Clipper

With more than one-third of the students' summer vacation already gone, it is time to be looking ahead, marking your calendars, and getting kids registered for Traer's Ecumenical Vacation Bible School. This year's theme is Maker Fun Factory, where curious kids become hands-on inventors who discover they're lovingly crafted by God. Each day at VBS, kids ages four through the completion of fifth grade will travel through rotations (Sound Wave Sing & Play, Snack Factory, Bible Discovery, KidVid Cinema, Game Makers, Imagination Station, & Funshop Finale) that reinforce relevant Bible points and immerse students in new adventures.

Our mission projects this year include projects for residents at Sunrise Hill, collecting school supplies for North Tama, a Ghana mission opportunity, and Penny Wars to support CHAT (Christian Hands Across Traer).

Fun Maker Factory VBS will be held August 7 through Aug 10 from 8:45 A.M. to 12:15 P.M.each day at the Traer United Methodist Church (512 4th St.). Registration forms can be found at the Traer Public Library, Pied Paper, or by contacting any board member (Carston Calderwood, Kim Calderwood, Katie Lechtenberg, Amber Monat, Maria Yuska, Rebecca Dostal, Angie Jacobs). Cost is $10 per child or $25 per family and includes snacks and lunch each day. Please call Angie Jacobs at (319) 231-6583 with any questions or to register your child for a wonderful week at Vacation Bible School!
