September 6, 2017
Traer Star-Clipper

In 1947, a rather large class of 48 students graduated from Traer High School. The graduates included several who had been in service in World War II, who came back and graduated with the class.

Thirty-one of those 48 are deceased, but 17 received invitations to gather together recently during Winding Stairs Festival, at the Traer home of classmate Nancy Kahler Degner for a 70 year celebration. While only five were able to attend, several more sent information to share for the class booklet.

Graduates who were invited to attend: Marilyn Altenhein Kruse, Elinor Dalziel Froehlich, Norma Haach Novotny, Richard Hagedorn, Arlene Halupnik Fleming, Monte Joe Harrison, Nancy Kahler Degner, Marvyle Key Raub, Alice Kutin Lass, Jack Norman, Donald Petersen, Marian Podhajsky Dostal, Earl Schlomer, Beverly Smith Heth, Betty Stepanek Upah, Georgia Stevenson Baugh, Helen Madera Burmeister. Addresses were not available for a couple of others.
