Football falls to Colfax-Mingo

The North Tama football team committed five turnovers and suffered its fourth-straight loss as a result, falling 39-21 to Colfax-Mingo in Friday's Class A District 5 game.

The Redhawks (1-5, 0-4) threw five interceptions and surrendered 424 yards of total offense to Colfax-Mingo (3-4, 2-2).

North Tama was led by Hale Hulme, who was 7-for-11 passing for 90 yards with a 13-yard scoring strike to Tayten Payne. Hulme also carried the ball 19 times for 100 yards and a touchdown.

The Belle Plaine football team tallied a pair of 100-yard rushers in a 44-6 victory over North Tama in the previous Friday's Class A District 5 game.

Skyler Staker completed 12-of-27 passes for 161 yards and an interception for North Tama (1-4, 0-3). Tayten Payne pulled in three passes for 62 yards and Noah Bond had four grabs for 60 yards to lead the Redhawk offense. Tyler Morrison tallied 78 rushing yards and the team's lone touchdown.
