On Dec. 3, 1977, she married Dr. James Ralls at Sacred Heart Church in Oelwein. Three children were born to this union; Amanda Ralls of Grundy Center, Sandra (Justin) Lackore of Cedar Rapids and Jeffrey Ralls also of Cedar Rapids. Marilyn was also blessed with the birth of her granddaughter, Brooklyn Lackore.

All children, Amanda, Sandy, Jeff and granddaughter Brooklyn and her husband of forty years, Jim, survived her. Marilyn's family is especially grateful to Dr.'s Wilbur and Lee and staff at the Mercy Hospital Hall-Perrine Cancer Center in Cedar Rapids. To Mercy Hospital and Dr. Anthony Leo's office in Oelwein, the Independence Hospital Emergency Room and Grandview Healthcare Center for the care they many times provided during the past year.

Marilyn will be sadly missed by those whose lives she touched. May she always be remembered as an optimistic and generously caring woman.
