Elinor E. Froehlich, 88

Elinor Elizabeth Froehlich was born on May 14, 1929, in rural Traer, the daughter of Andrew and Jessie (Stevenson) Dalziel. She grew up in Traer and Reinbeck and graduated from Traer High School in 1947. She then worked as a bookkeeper for several area businesses. In 1953, Elinor was united marriage to Jake Froehlich at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. The couple made their home in Traer where Elinor took care of the family. She was a member of the Traer United Methodist Church and enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, gardening, watching the Chicago Cubs and Iowa Hawkeyes, and spending time with her family. Elinor died at the age of 88 on Sunday, January 21, 2018, at Sunrise Hill Care Center in Traer. A service will be held Friday, January 26, 2018 at Overton Funeral Home in Traer beginning at 11 a.m. with a visitation one hour prior. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Roger Dalziel. Elinor is survived by her husband; a son, Bob (Sandy) Froehlich of Savanna, Illinois; a daughter, Coleen (Dan) Kelenske of Little Rock, Arkansas; a sister-in-law, Sandy Dalziel of Ainsworth; and other family members.
