TAG (Traer Air Gun) Team defeats Lake County Aces

TAG Team defeated Lake County Aces 1301 to 981 in the National Air Pistol League. With the win, TAG Team is in fourth place with a 1 - 0 record. TAG Team was led by Matt Whannel who shot a 337. The remaining contributing members were Pete Holden, Megan Carty, and Grace Asmussen . TAG Team is from Traer, IA, and is coached by Peter Holden.

Lake County Aces dropped to 0 - 1 on the season. They are currently in ninth place. Lake County Aces was led by Colby Briggs who shot a 294. These two teams are competing in the National Air Pistol League. Sponsored by the Orion Scoring System, the league is a national team league for clubs throughout the United States. Over 10 weeks each team competes in 8 games. Each week, each team is paired with another team with a near equal win-loss record. The winner of the league is the team with the best win-loss record.

In each game the teams compete in a 40 shot air pistol match. This competition is nearly identical to the Air Pistol events in the Olympic games. Each athlete will shoots 40 shots, with each shot worth a maximum of 10 points. The sum of points scored in the 40 shots is the athlete's total. The team score is comprised of the best four athletes from each team.
