Marquess announces candidacy for Tama County Attorney

March 16, 2018
Traer Star-Clipper

I am excited to announce that I am running for Tama County Attorney in November, and appreciate this opportunity to publicly declare my candidacy.

I have been a lawyer for fifteen years, having spent the first nine as a prosecutor and the last six in private practice. I have served as Assistant County Attorney in both Tama and Marshall Counties, and between those positions and my private practice have tried hundreds of criminal trials. During my time as Assistant Tama County Attorney I worked closely with local law enforcement and DHS to successfully reduce the number of criminal and child abuse incidents in Tama County. In my private practice I am involved in many different facets of civil litigation, and serve as City Attorney for Toledo, Montour, Chelsea and occasionally Gladbrook. Most of my professional career has been spent in Tama County, and I have recently bought a house just outside of Garwin.

I want to serve as Tama County Attorney because I am passionate about prosecuting criminal cases and I believe I can make a real difference in our community by doing so. I have the support of many law enforcement officers and community leaders who know my commitment and strong work ethic. I am grateful for their faith in me, and look forward to earning the support of the entire community during this year's campaign. Please vote for me in November!
