Traer Historical Museum receives $26K grant

The Enhance Iowa Board awarded $876,000 in Community Attraction and Tourism (CAT) grants to a nature center in Hawarden, an aquatic center in Sibley and a historical museum in Traer. The Enhance Iowa Board approved the awards at today's meeting in Marshalltown.

The following project was approved for a grant awarded from the Community Attraction and Tourism (CAT) Fund: Traer Historical Museum History NOW, Traer

Total Project Cost: $130,322

Amount Requested: $26,000

Amount Awarded: $26,000

Project Description: This project includes new windows, HVAC, exhibits, display cases, security system, smoke alarms and lighting.

The Enhance Iowa Program provides financial incentives to communities for the construction of recreational, cultural, educational or entertainment facilities that enhance the quality of life in Iowa. To date, 31 CAT awards have been granted by the board, totaling $10,808,802.
