The North Tama Dance Team took their pom routine to the State Dance Competition at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines last week and walked away with second place in their class.

"These ladies worked extremely hard in preparation for our state competition," coach Becky Adams said. "I couldn't be more proud of their work ethic and the second place finish."

Members of the team had been busy rehearsing their routine after deciding to switch to a different routine eight weeks ago. They showcased their hard work in front of family and friends the week before heading off to perform in front of judges and fellow dancers across Iowa. Last year, the squad received first place in pom and now add another impressive placing to their resume.

"I'm honestly just so proud of how much this team has accomplished getting first last year and second this year," Molly Kvidera, the senior team captain said. "It's awesome to go to State and see all of our hard work and time put in this one dance finally pay off. Dance has been one of my favorite things to participate in, in high school, and it's great and so much fun to be successful at State."
